Little Palms - Hacienda White

Hi Artists!

Little Palms, so graciously invited us over for a paint session by the beach today!

We’re SO excited to be painting with y'all!

To make it easier, here are the step by step instructions so you can follow along.

This is what we’re painting today:

Step 1:

First half of the painting:
First we’ll pick up a lot of blue with the big brush and a little of white and we’ll go side to side using barely any pressure on the brush until the middle of the canvas.

Step 2:

Second Half:
We’ll pick up a lot of blue with the big brush and we’ll go side to side using barely any pressure on the brush until the end of the canvas.

Step 3:

Mountain:
With the small brush, mix in the plate blue with a tiny bit of black. Start from the side and draw a mountain that goes from the left to the right. Be creative, it can be small or big. Once you draw an outline of a mountain you like, fill it in with that dark blue color you mixed.

Step 4:

Birds:
Rinse and dry the small brush, dip it slightly in white, and draw the birds. Think of each bird as stretched out letter “m”.

Step 5:

Dolphin:
Place the dolphin stencil wherever you'd like and make sure to hold it down well then fill it in in black.

Step 6:

Final Touches:
With the same rinsed small brush, dip it in white, and paint a coin sized moon on the top left. And lastly, with barely any white paint on the brush and very light pressure, draw random lines in the water to add some reflections.
Optional: You can then also use the small brush with some white paint to stamp some water splashes around the dolphins tail.
